VOLUNTEER
Lincoln has volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups. Most volunteer opportunities take place at our main campus on Lincoln Ave in Oakland. However, we also have locations in Hayward and Concord where we are expanding programs and looking for support. Here are a few ways you can help.

Gourmet Club 2008
The Breakfast Club is a group of volunteers who meet 10 times per year to present to the children in our various programs an amazing multiple course meal complete with linens and china. Volunteers help to create the menu, and prepare and serve the meal to the children. It is a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to see directly how their efforts bring joy to the children.

The next event is January 13, 2008 to serve Kinship Families.

Volunteer Testimonial
I’ve been a member of the Gourmet Club for over 7 years and I must admit it is still just as important to me today, as it was 7 years ago. I feel it is extremely important to show kids that nurturing food is good for the soul and that people care and love them. That the members of the Gourmet Club volunteer their time to show just how much the kids mean to us and to society. We want to see them happy and full, and we want them to know that we are there for them. Each and every time we prepare a meal we hope that it brings them joy or provides them with a special memory that they will always cherish; maybe some day they will want to prepare these dishes for themselves or someone else.”

Volunteer for Lincoln’s Culinary Stars By the Bay Event on May 8th 2008

This year will be particularly fun as Lincoln will be celebrating 125 years of service. We are upgrading our VIP event and will be needing many volunteers to help with registration, the silent and live auction, supporting our vendors by helping to serve beverages and food and pre-event support with administrative needs. Please contact Alicia Hull at 510-531-3111 ext 115 if you would like more information or to sign up to help.

Holiday Program:
During the holidays we need volunteers to help organize and wrap gifts for our families and residents.

Corporate Opportunities
There are many group volunteer opportunities, including spring-cleaning events & painting parties.

Work with the children:
The students need help with their homework, reading and support in the classroom.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Lincoln Development Department at volunteer@lincolncc.org or Alicia Hull at 510-531-3111 ext 115.
